Oomco Station: OOMCO’s First Integrated Project in Saudi Arabia Engineering Execution with International Standards in the Heart of Dammam

  • As part of its regional expansion, Oomco Station in Dammam marks the beginning of OOMCO’s operations in Saudi Arabia, Oman Oil Marketing Company (OMCO) launched its first operational phase in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by opening its first fully integrated service station in the city of Dammam. This milestone coincided with the official ceremony of launching OMCO’s international brand identity in Saudi Arabia, marking the beginning of a new strategic phase aimed at enhancing the quality of petroleum services and elevating service station standards across the Kingdom.

Technical Overview of Oomco Station in Dammam

The project was launched following a comprehensive implementation plan that adhered to the highest standards of quality and safety. All works were completed within a record timeframe of just six months, from the establishment phase to the final handover.

The scope of construction and service works included :

  • Groundwater Dewatering Works: The geological challenges of the site were addressed through the creation of effective dewatering systems to prevent water accumulation and ensure a dry and safe construction environment. 
  • Sanitary Systems: Complete sanitary drainage networks were implemented in compliance with the regulations of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, ensuring proper and clean water discharge. 
  • Electrical Networks: Modern electrical infrastructure was installed, considering load distribution and providing sustainable power sources to meet the operational needs of the station. 
  • Integrated Infrastructure Works: This included underground pipelines, site grading, internal roads, sidewalks, and directional signage. 

Specialized Works Executed by the Project Team

  • Fuel Tank Installation: Underground fuel storage units were constructed in accordance with the safety standards and regulations of the Ministry of Energy, along with a smart monitoring system. 
  • Firefighting Systems: Fully automated fire detection and suppression systems were implemented, including sensors, sprinkler piping, and high-pressure pumps. 
  • Underground Pipeline Extensions: A fuel transport network was established between tanks and pumps, designed to resist corrosion and ensure safe fuel flow. 
  • High-Quality Final Finishes: The architectural exterior and interior finishes were executed to match OMCO’s international identity, using high-quality materials to ensure durability and a professional appearance.
